Aging skin develops fine lines and wrinkles along with changes toward a more sallow complexion. Although surgery is available to tighten drooping facial skin, improvement of the finer wrinkles and facial color can be best achieved through facial skin resurfacing. We will often recommend a home skin care treatment program before and after the resurfacing, as well as light facial peels to improve and maintain their beneficial effects.
Microfractional CO2 laser resurfacing (MiXto laser) or dermabrasion is performed to diminish fine lines and wrinkles, tighten facial skin and to even out skin tone. Both treatments stimulate new skin growth and creation of your own collagen, leaving you with younger-looking, smoother skin. Treatment can be performed over the entire face or limited to specific areas of concern. The procedure requires about one hour and can be performed under local anesthesia or IV sedation (twilight anesthesia) for your comfort.
